Police are often called to investigate suspicious and even non suspicious deaths. The methods used are not really “trade secrets” they are simply concepts passed down from one cop to another. There are lots of these types of techniques that nobody thinks to write down in a manual or make a training video about. Because of this there are a large number of folks out there who could use this info in their profession but it is simply not available. Free Field Training is committed to providing this non OPSEC information to the public to help those who can use the info but were never provided with it by their employer and to increase the knowledge base of the public about the work done and skillsets actually used by those who serve and protect them.

I recently had a personal experience with delayed mourning In fact I'm still dealing with it. My mother passed away last October. She'd been sick for years, and got much much worse close to the end, so her death was expected, and frankly a relief, because she was no longer suffering. I was sad at the time, but really a lot less sad than I expected to be. Then just after Easter (so about 6 months after her passing) I went to the store for groceries and say they had taken down an Easter display and replaced it with a mother's day display. Just for a moment I thought about getting a card, then I remembered... I was really unprepared for the emotion and how much I've been missing her.

I had both parents for almost 47 years, so I think that is pretty good. My mother's dad died before I was born, and her own mother passed in 1984, so yea. I know what you mean.

+Eric Taylor I'm lucky enough to still have both parents. Losing grandparents was bad enough....

3:24 Fantastic edit there. Without looking at the background you never know that "...that puts one barrier..." and ".....between the emotions...." was interrupted. It sounds just like one, normal continuance sentence.

The trick is to start a sentience, mess up part way through then continue the sentience again in perfect rhythm. When you speak you have a rhythm that is fairly quick, and being off by even a fraction of a second can be enough to hear. It's not so much the editing that is tricky. It is the speaking. Don't worry about the video. It's fine and frankly, I'm autistic, so I'm more likely to notice things like that. I doubt many people noticed.

+Eric Taylor Well, audio is easier. That is why podcasts sound so good but movies have to cut away to different angles. When I get another good camera to do multiple angles the video will be more seamless.

    • Eric Taylor
      Eric Taylor

It's just kind of impressive that the audio is seamless even though the video isn't.

    • free field training
      free field training

+MrFoxracing19 homicide? It is a simple five step process: Step 1 stay outside unless you have to go in. If you have to go in, don't touch or Step on anything. (Also don't use the bathroom in the place or eat the food) Step 2 put up crime scene tape twice as far as you think you should step 3 call the people who get paid to be on call. Step 4 start a crime scene log of everyone comming and going from the scene. step 5 find a friend to bring you fresh coffee, it's going to be a long night.

+Rookieof Theyear and some don't want people to even notice that there is security at all.

    • free field training
      free field training

+Joshua Olatunji You understand that "independent contractor" simply means doing a job unaffiliated with a contractor/contract company. So, I, for instance, work security directly for an organization and not through a security company. Yes, I work directly for companies and organizations that need high end security and do not want to go through a security company. Oftentimes people want to have direct control over who works security at a specific event or location but don't want to be responsible for the training and equipment of a proprietary security force. They can hire qualified, trained, and insured individuals like me to work for them on an as needed basis. Sometimes I even volunteer my services for nonprofits that have special safety and image requirements.

What are your thoughts on the Alton Sterling bs. In my opinion the police officers were in the right.

    • free field training

+SensualLemon Exactly, let us not be the same thing which we fight against.

    • free field training
      free field training

+SR71xBLACKBIRDx I reserve judgment on the matter until I have seen more than a 21second shaky camera phone video of unknown origin that shows little of what the officers or suspect were doing before, after, or at the time of the shots being fired. I'd like to see the forensic evidence, testimony of witnesses, testimony of the officers, and the several other camera angles first. Just as any homicide investigation this one should be judged based upon the totality of the circumstances involved. I checked out of all other social media precisely because of our socities' obsession with 140 character thinking. Let's not rush to judgment either way.

    • SensualLemon

I doubt he's going to feel comfortable publicly answering that. I think everyone should wait until the investigation is finished.
